September-October 2005

In these six pictures, Griffin is at the Takoma Park "Touch a Truck" Day Event.  The local neighborhood has a Saturday morning in September when all the kids are allowed to climb in and around all the municipal vehicles-- backhoes, bobcats, garbage trucks, fire trucks, police cars.  Honking horns is OK and they had a demonstration of every vehicle so kids could see the trucks in action and meet real sanitation workers, police officers, fire fighters, etc.  Griffin LOVED it!  Plus, he got a free builder's hat (which he likes a lot, but not so much to wear).  Look forward to going again next year!
These six pictures are of Griffin at Cox Farms in Virginia with a class field trip.  Daddy came along, too!   Griffin wasn't a big fan of the three goats (see him running away?), but he LOVED the cow milking demonstration. Daddy's ancestors included a line of dairy farmers, so perhaps it is in his blood.  In the next photo, Griffin is on a steep wooden "gangway" with his friend Lucy (nearest) and Emily (blonde in red shirt).  In the red wagon are Jalen, Lucy and G.  Griffin loved the free apples at the farm-- Jalen was very sweet and kept going back to get more apples to hand out to his daycare buddies.
Griffin can turn the world upside-down, as can be seen in this picture!  We attended a great party that out friends Tom and Christie threw-- they even encouraged people to bring their kiddos to the party and provided a babysitter.  Griffin is doing an admirable job at keeping with the "UN Day" international theme of the party!
